“The Bad Boy of Dance”
Lucas
was born in Queens, New York, and pursued the stage performing in several
live and televised events for MTV, Coca Cola, McDonalds, JC Penny and L.A.
Gear during his youth. It was inevitable early on that Lucas Prata was
destined for stardom. Lucas’s transition to his true passion – music – has
since taken him to stardom. Nicknamed “The Bad Boy of Dance” by the
industry, Lucas Prata’s full-length album “Let’s Get It On” was officially
released March 7, 2006.
Ever since the 2002 release of singer/songwriter Lucas Prata’s first
single “Let’s Get It On,” (Universal Records) established him on
Rhythm/Top 40 radio, Lucas’ rapid evolution in music has been astonishing.
In 2004, he signed to Ultra Records with “Never Be Alone” which became a
dance floor and wedding anthem for couples around the world. While touring
America in support of his “Never Be Alone” single, Lucas contributed his
songwriting talents to other successful groups including the Moffits and
B-3. Soon the phones were ringing nonstop with calls from various artists
and producers worldwide seeking an original Lucas-penned song.
Lucas Prata’s 2005 duet with Dan Balan of O-Zone “Ma Ya Hi - Dragostea din
Tei” (The Numa Numa Song) has kept the Ultra Records “Franchise Artist &
Bad Boy of Dance” quite busy. “Ma Ya Hi” has been #1 in over 27 countries
and has sold over 10 million singles worldwide in various languages. The
newly re-recorded version of “Ma Ya Hi” can be seen and heard on
Television & Films including: NBC - The Today Show, CNN Best of the Web
2005, ABC - Good Morning America, Chicken Little and Deuce Bigalo European
Gigolo.
“The fourth single “And She Said…(Y Dices) is different from the past
three I have put out. This song shows a growth in my writing and a focus
on Rhythm/Pop/Top 40 radio as well as Hurban & Latin/Tropical stations.”
says Prata. The Pop single features various club friendly remixes as well
as Spanish, Spanglish and a Reggaeton version featuring Universal Record’s
princess of Reggaeton “Adassa”. MTV took “And She Said…” to
another
level by selecting Lucas Prata to appear on their series “My Super Sweet
16”. Loyal Prata fans from around the globe have flooded the
www.lucasprata.com
website as well as his myspace web address to request Lucas at their
upcoming parties. “And She Said…” continues to snowball as It was danced
to by the competitor; Snow on the hit Fox television show “So You Think
You Can Dance”. In August 2006, the song was re-written and is now “And We
Say… Let’s Go Mets” the official team song for the New York Mets.
To the future: Lucas Prata full-length album “Let’s Get It On” has now
been licensed to Ministry of Sound (United Kingdom), Ministry of
Sound/Zoom Records (Germany), Family Tree/Catchy Tunes (Sweden), Avex
(Japan), Be Yourself Records (Netherlands), Just Records (South Africa)
and other territories. In the United States after sharing the stage with
Rihanna, JoJo, Nick Lachey, Frankie J. and Jeannie Ortega, the fans have
requested “I Think I’m Falling In Love” as the next Lucas Prata single to
be released to radio in March 2007.
