will miss one of its first favorite girls.
Jo Carol Davidson, a celebrated recording artist, songwriter,
musician, & AIDS fundraiser, died June 4th at California Pacific Medical
Center in San Francisco. The cause of death was a cerebral aneurysm.
Jo-Carol was a founding artist, with Patrick Cowley, of his Megatone
label, and toured with Sylvester. She released hits as "Born to be Wild",
"House on Fire", "Last Call" and as part of the group Modern Rocketry
"Cuba Libre". She headlined acclaimed clubs and venues throughout the
world, including the prestigious Hollywood Bowl, Atlanta's Civic Center
and Manhattan's Saint and Studio 54.
Jo- Carol was also known for her jingles for Barbie, Power Thirst, Red Dog
and more, along with her notable soundtracks in "Ferngully and Comedy
Centrals series "Frank leaves for the Orient".
She was one of a kind and one of the most talent performers around. She
will be greatly missed by the industry and her fans. And like the song...
"Never can say Goodbye," ...neither can we.
